Sprag type one-way clutch comprising an outer race and an outer race provided in the inner race, outer race and an inner race spaced radially from each other and coaxially disposed for relative rotation, and a plurality of outer race disposed within the housing between the wedge ring, for transmitting torque, an annular retainer retaining wedge, and a spring member supported between the wedge with the wedge holder and biased in an engagement direction, characterized in that, bridged retaining cylindrical portion, a window portion having a radially extending portion of the wedge is mounted in the window for pivotal movement, and the spring member along the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion of the guide is substantially circular.
